My name is Christie Laura and I am 34 years old. 

My music influences is ANYONE WHO ROCKS!!

I love to play with the Family Jewels Band because we have such a great and talented family of all ages.  Playing music gives us another reason to be together to express ourselves and create good music.

My name is Brian Laura (AKA Funky B) and I am 34 years old.

My music influences are AC/DC, BB King, Blues, Funk, Billy Squire, pretty much anything that my older brothers thought that was cool.

The Family Jewels Band is a dream come true for me.  The band gives us a reason to bring all of us together for toe tapping good time.  It gives us a reason to use our creativity and to get our “one hit wonder” and to live happily ever after TOGETHER!

My name is Julian Arche and I am 17 years old.  I am the rhythm guitarist for Family Jewels Band.  I have a B.C. Rich Warlock.

My musical  influences are Incubus, Death Cab for Cutie and Metallica.

I like to hang out with friends and family to keep it real and have a good time!

I enjoy playing with the band because of the atmosphere and the variety of songs that we make.

My name is Mike Laura  and I am 39 years old.  I play lead guitar and have been roped into singing. 

My music influences are Jack Johnson, Tom Petty and Radiohead. 

The best thing about playing in Family Jewels Band is the creative process of writing songs and quality time with my family.  I feel very blessed that we can do this as a family.  My wife (the pianist) is my inspiration.

I am Devin, 11 years old and I enjoy playing my bass.  I play a Squire bass and my music influences are Jimi Hendrix, Linkin Park and AC/DC. 

I love to play sports.  Basketball and football are the two sports I like best. 

Playing with Family Jewels Band gives me the opportunity to spend quality time with my dad (Mike/guitar), my two step brothers (Julian/rhythm guitar, Matt/drummer) and my uncle (Brian/Bass).

My name is Matt Dodoro and I am 9 years old.  I play the drums and I love it!  I have a natural knack for rhythm and I have never taken lessons.  My mom and step dad bought me my first drum set when I was 7 years old because when I first seen my aunt Christie play drums, I knew that this was the instrument for me. 

My music influences are AC/DC, Linkin Park and Santana.

I like to play pretend war, nintendo DS and XBox.

I love to play with the Family Jewels Band because it’s AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although most traditional bands have one person playing an instrument, what makes this band so unique is that they are all related and play.  Keeping it in the family!  Family Jewels Band consists of Lead guitarist/singer Mike Laura; Bass #1 Brian Laura; Bass #2 Devin Laura; Rhythm guitar/ Julian Arche; Drummer #1/ Christie Laura; Drummer #2/ Matt Dodoro and Keyboards/percussion/singer Alma Laura.  Interestingly enough, Bass player #2 Devin is 11 years old and Drummer #2 Matt is only 9 years old.  These two boys created some of the tunes that are used by the band.  Mike is not only the singer but he is the songwriter.

Family Jewels Band enjoys playing in front of small crowds, most of them played during parties that Brian and Christie have hosted.

Family Jewels Band is awaiting our next gathering… Thanksgiving Day 2008!  Another jam session, possibly create a song or two.  The fun thing about our band is that WE NEVER KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN!  It’s the adventure  that we look forward to when we gather again.
